Uninstall and reinstall
Use the uninstaller, close CorelDRAW first, and know the two places files live. A half-removed plugin behaves worse than no plugin at all.
Before you start
Quit CorelDRAW completely. Deleting a .cpg while CorelDRAW has it loaded leaves the file locked and the removal half-done — which is exactly the state that produces confusing errors later.
Remove properly
- Run Uninstall_dtz.exe from the same folder you installed from. It removes the plugin for the version it was built for.
- If you no longer have it, use Settings → Apps and look for the entry named after your CorelDRAW version.
- Restart CorelDRAW and confirm the menu is gone.
Manual cleanup
Two locations, both inside the CorelDRAW install folder:
Draw\Plugins64\dtzCdrPlugin.cpg— the loader.Draw\Plugins64\dtzCdrTool\— the supporting DLLs and the small tools.
Remove both. Leaving the folder behind while the .cpg is gone is harmless; leaving an old .cpg behind while the folder is gone is not — that produces a load failure at every startup.
dtzCdrTool folder from another machine to “fix” a broken install. The DLLs are built against one CorelDRAW version and one tool version; mixing them is the reason a fresh install fails while the files look right.Reinstall
- Run the installer for your CorelDRAW version.
- Accept the default path — it points at the version the installer was built for.
- Start CorelDRAW and check for the DTZSMART menu.
What survives a reinstall
Settings and saved machine profiles are kept outside the plugin folder, so a reinstall does not reset your setup. Job files on disk are never touched.
If the installer refuses
Usually a leftover file is still locked by a running process. Reboot, then install again before opening any CorelDRAW. If it still refuses, see Admin rights and antivirus.
